Praise the Lord, Spring is here!

Were you like me and thought Spring would never arrive?

As I speak, it's currently overcast and chilly this Sunday afternoon but have no fear! The weatherman says that next week we are supposed to hit 70 degrees!! What a great thought!

Do you, like me, finding yourself yearning to get outside and plant those annuals, hang those baskets, and enjoy the sunshine? On that note, we'd like to say how excited Sarah's Flowers & Gifts is for The Green Spot in Manchester and their new and very spacious greenhouse! I personally buy hanging baskets from Janet every spring for my house because her petunias are by the far the most beautiful I have seen!

It's hard to believe Easter is almost here. A week from now we'll all be enjoying the company of family and hunting those eggs!

At the flower shop we've been busy getting ready for Spring since before the snow melted!

We have our Easter lilies now in stock, and I must say they are so beautifully fragrant. We've also gotten in several sizes and types of blooming plants -- just in time for you send as and Easter greeting to family and friends.

Isn't it amazing what flowers do to a room at holiday time? I was reading a study done recently by Harvard in relation to what flowers do when put in a room with people at work. Researchers have found that flowers actually can increase positive thoughts and feelings!

Couldn't we all use more of that? Treat yourself and pick up some flowers today!

Sarah's Flowers & Gifts always has a great selection of fresh cut stems on hand for you DIY'ers! We love making up wrapped bouquets for people to take home and create their own arrangements. And with Spring flowers beginning to bloom - just think how fun it would be combine your tulips with some flower shop daisies? Or some flower shop roses with a few of your hosta leaves?

We're always here to help you because we appreciate you and we love flowers! If you haven't been out to see us in a while, most definetly stop in - we have a HUGE selection of spring gifts for every price range!

Google Reader

Let me say I love Google Reader!!

My main new year's resoloution was to become a little more organized with my online tools, the blog, the fb posts, and the tweets.

I've been finding so many great flower shop blogs to read, but I've also been stumbling across a lot of fantastic, creative crafting blogs!

My background pretty much started with crafting. Being the daughter of a professional crafter (Yes my mother made a career of it!) I would spend a large number of summer weekends traveling across the midwest to craft shows with mom to help sell her handmade items. I was very lucky to have a mom that encouraged creativity from a very young age -- look where it got me! Doing what I love, everday!

I also worked for both Ben Franklin Crafts and Hobby Lobby which allowed me access to the newest craft trends on the market. I also had the best teachers while working retail in arts and crafts, the customers!!

I learned so much from customers looking for a certain product or purchasing something to finish up a project. They'd tell me what they were doing and then how to do it and voila - I could add another project to my craft recipe box! If I had a question, I knew which customer to ask so next time they'd come in I'd fire away.

So that brings me to Google Reader. With all these blogs I was trying to follow, I felt overwhelmed stashing them all in my "Favorites" folder online and trying to read each one and remember which ones I had looked at recently for updates.

Hello Good Reader! It's so awesome because I can put all my favorite blogs/websites/facebook pages/twitter pages into it and it keeps me posted when new info is posted. It's kind of like your own personlized, online library that stocks only books that you enjoy and you can go "check them out" whenver you want!

Just today I found this website: www.dollarstorecrafts.com

Great site - great ideas - great price!! Who doesn't love The Dollar Tree and the amazing things you can find their for projects.

From that site I found such blogs and sites as Curbly, ShannonMakesStuff, and MuffinTinMom.

I hope you all enjoy reading them as much as I do!

Keep crafting!

Happy March!

It's spring month! Yeah!!

We are so ready for spring! We just attended our first Delaware County Master Gardener's Monday's in March program!

A great presentation by Heidi Tietz-De Silva from Petersen-Tietz in Waterloo!

We learned a lot and now we're ready to get out there and get our hands in the dirt.

We've been recently "trying our hands" at some new farm themes in our hand painted stones. Take a look and let us know what you think!
